Halloween lands on Saturday, October 31, and the green at LaCenterra gets the weekend of it: Viva La Vida, a free Day of the Dead celebration with mariachi and dance, Friday night, then Tent and Treat on the green Saturday morning for the little ones. Historic Katy rounds out Halloween day with its free family festival at The Dryer, and the usual yoga mornings and Sunday farmers market keep their rhythm. LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch sits at the community’s main entrance on Cinco Ranch Boulevard and the Grand Parkway, and this week the green keeps its usual rhythm while Halloween takes over the weekend. Wednesday and Friday start with free yoga from 8 a.m. Friday night, Viva La Vida fills the square with a Day of the Dead celebration: traditional dance and mariachi on the green, cultural storytelling, a live DJ, and local food and craft vendors. Saturday morning, Tent and Treat gives younger kids a daytime trick-or-treat stop from 11 a.m., and the Sunday farmers market at Heritage Square runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Across the way, early voting for the November general election continues all week in the meeting room at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library, through Friday, October 30. The Sunday farmers market returns to Heritage Square, rain or shine, with local produce and vendors. Braeswood Farmers Market runs this weekly market, so there is a market at the square every Sunday, including this one.

These events sit outside Cinco Ranch proper, in Katy, and are all a short drive from the community. Each card gives the exact address so you know precisely where you’re going. The countdown starts Thursday with a free trunk-or-treat at the Keller Williams Signature office on Fry Road, and Friday a haunted car meet with decorated vehicles takes over the Lowe’s parking lot near Heritage Oak. Saturday, October 31 stacks up from morning to night: the Farmers Market on Grand Parkway and the Old Katy market at The Dryer in the morning, then The Dryer’s Halloween Family Festival from 4 p.m. with trick-or-treating, face painting, live music, and a costume contest. Nearby counts when it is genuinely worth it, and nothing on this list is a stretch.
